What i love most about Shawn and Angela and their story, is that they both had fears and doubts. Shawn started off with doubts after he broke up with her after only 2 weeks of dating. He was scared to commit so he held back. Once he realized he was in love with her, and only her he knew he wanted to take the plunge and commit fully to her. However by this point Angela was afraid of getting hurt and she backed away. Finally he convinced her to go out with him and he took her to a fancy restaurant. Angela was frightened of love, and Shawn helped her to see how beautiful love can be. They dated all through the rest of Senior year and all the way to college.

When college came around, Shawn thought he wanted to date other girls and see what else was out there. I think this was only and excuse because he was realizing that he was madly in love with this girl and that scared him to death. He needed to back away and think things through. Angela was broken hearted. They were broken up through all of Freshman year of high school. However almost immediately Shawn realized his mistake and wanted to be with her again but was afraid she was already over him so he never made a move. Once his dad died and he took his little journey to find himself, when he returned he realized how important she was in his life and he wanted to make things right and find his way back to her heart. He worked at getting back with her.

When they started up school again in the fall, Shawn was determind to win her back no matter what it took. However Angela seemed to shy away from love and seemed to be afraid. It turns out she was afraid of turning into her mother and one day leaving him the way her mother left her father. In the end she decided to take a risk on love and confess all her true feelings for Shawn. it was truly heartwarming.

So as you can see, Shawn and Angela had their ups and downs but to me that made them human. It made them all the more realistic and their doubts and fears finally vanished in the end. This is how things should have been left with them because they deserved a life of love with their soul mate.
